Cinque Terre and Portovenere

Hiking

Located in Liguria and near the city of La Spezia, are many little colourful towns and villages that have been developed between the mountains and the sea. They really are colourful with little roads, marinas and breathtaking views.
Developed along the train line, every little town has its own station and it’s the best way to visit and stay in La Spezia, just like we did!
In two days, you can see much but more time is needed if you want to do a lot of walking with routes that connect between one another or that lead you to discovering monasteries, water sprigs and century old woods.
The hills are terraced and cultivated with vines and olives that are cared for with tools and instruments that resemble little trains as otherwise the work would have to be done by hand making it incredibly dangerous.
One suggestion, is to meet at sunset in different towns but also enjoying the fish, pesto and the local fruity and aromatic wine.
The photos don’t really do it justice but gives you an idea of the beauty install for you when you visit the place first hand and in person.

Just outside the Cinque Terre towns such as the UNESCO town of Portovenere,
https://it.wikipedia.org/wiki/Porto_Venere  is a must, with its medieval fort that defended the Port and has the atmosphere of the film Ladyhawke and Il Nome della Rosa.
Another town to visit is that of Levanto.
